Tech Star: Characteristics of Nanomaterials and Their Diversified Applications

I. Definition and Types of Nanomaterials

Nanomaterials refer to materials in which at least one dimension is within the nanoscale (1-100 nm) or are composed of such nanoscale units as the basic elements.

By type, it mainly includes nanoparticles, nanofibers, nanogels, etc.

Common nanomaterials include: silica particles, carbon powder, PS microspheres (modified PS microspheres), polylactic acid microspheres, silicate aluminum particles, iron oxide magnetic fluid, aluminum hydroxide gel, hyaluronic acid gel, sodium alginate gel, polyaniline polymer, and silica sol.

Iron hydroxide gel, liposomes, exosomes

II. Applications of Nanomaterials

Grinding machine, polishing agent: Silica particles

Drug-loaded: PS microspheres, polylactic acid microspheres, modified PS microspheres

Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide gel

Drug preparations: Magnetic fluid, hyaluronic acid gel, alginate ammonium gel, liposomes, exosomes

New materials: silicate particles, silica sol, polyaniline polymer gel

III. Purification Purpose of Nanomaterial Membrane Filters

Remove surfactants, desalinate, de-organic solvent, dehydrate, and concentrate.

IV. Methods for Purification and Concentration of Nanomaterials

Ceramic membrane: Concentration, water washing or ethanol washing

Hollow fiber membrane: Concentration, washing
