The application of ceramic membrane equipment in the production of titanium dioxide

In the wet chemical process (sulfuric acid method, chlorination method, hydrochloric acid method) for producing nano-sized ultrafine titanium white powder, the titanium white slurry containing impurity ions needs to be washed to improve the purity of the titanium white powder. Different from traditional plate-and-frame filtration and centrifugal separation, ceramic membranes mainly adopt cross-flow filtration in the solid-liquid separation process. 

The ceramic membrane equipment is applied in the titanium dioxide washing process. Under the drive of pressure and high flow rate, the titanium dioxide slurry continuously circulates in the circulation side. The membrane surface can retain the titanium dioxide particles, while allowing the impurity ions in the solution to pass through the membrane pores and seep out. Due to the continuous flushing of the material liquid on the membrane surface, no material accumulation will occur, which significantly reduces the filtration resistance. Thus, it can maintain a high permeation flux under a relatively low pressure, enabling the filtration operation to be carried out continuously for a relatively long period of time.

· The filtration accuracy is high, with a high retention rate for ultra-fine titanium dioxide. The operation is simple. 

· The cleaning effect is excellent, and it can produce titanium dioxide with a purity of over 99.5%. 

· Since water does not contain titanium dioxide particles, the pollution from the discharged water is minimal. 

· The amount of water used for washing is low, which can save over 30% of the cleaning water. 

The main body of the equipment is made of stainless steel or anti-corrosion composite materials, featuring few wear-prone parts and simple equipment maintenance.
