Membrane distillation (MD) is a membrane separation process that utilizes hydrophobic microporous membranes and relies on the pressure difference of steam on both sides of the membrane as the driving force for mass transfer. It can be used for water distillation and desalination, as well as for removing volatile substances from aqueous solutions. For example, when water solutions at different temperatures are separated by hydrophobic microporous membranes, the water solutions on both sides cannot pass through the membrane pores and enter the other side due to the hydrophobic nature of the membrane. However, the water vapor pressure at the interface of the warm solution and the membrane is higher than that at the cold side. Thus, water vapor will pass through the membrane pores from the warm side and condense on the cold side. This process is very similar to the evaporation, mass transfer, and condensation processes in conventional distillation, so it is called membrane distillation.

The equipment is designed in a modular manner and is installed as a whole, thereby reducing the space occupied by the equipment.
★ Utilizing low-temperature drive, in this process, there is no need to heat the solution to its boiling point. As long as an appropriate temperature difference is maintained between the two sides of the membrane, it can be carried out. Various inexpensive energy sources (geothermal energy, hot springs, solar energy, waste heat from factories, etc.) can be utilized.
The membrane distillation process can handle extremely concentrated aqueous solutions. If the solute is a substance prone to crystallization, the solution can be concentrated to an oversaturated state. After the concentrated solution is cooled, crystallization occurs, making it the only membrane process capable of directly separating crystalline products from the solution at present.

The power supply of the equipment is controlled by leakage protection and low-voltage power control, which can fully ensure the safety of both the equipment and personnel.

4. The pipes are made of SUS304 stainless steel, PTFE or PP. The inner and outer surfaces of the pipes are of high quality, ensuring the equipment's pressure resistance, solvent resistance and corrosion resistance. The operation is simple, clean and hygienic, and it is safe and reliable.
5. All stainless steel welding is carried out using automatic argon gas protection, with single-sided welding and double-sided forming. The inner and outer surfaces of the pipeline have excellent quality, and there are no welding points in the pipelines in contact with the materials, ensuring the equipment's pressure resistance and corrosion resistance. The equipment is easy to operate, clean and hygienic, and safe and reliable.
6. The equipment is equipped with an automatic heating function and a liquid level interlock mechanism to prevent dry burning and damage to the equipment. The collection tank has a liquid level control system. When the liquid level in the collection tank reaches a certain level, the equipment will automatically shut down. After the liquid level in the collection tank is discharged, the equipment can restart, ensuring the safety of equipment operation. The two tanks can be connected in series, enabling continuous water production.
7. The equipment is equipped with a feed flowmeter, which can measure the feed flow rate of the membrane module.
8. The pipe fittings are connected by double flange clamping, and the membrane pool is sealed with double sealing rings.
9. The water storage tank is equipped with a liquid level gauge and has over-limit protection function, which prevents the equipment from being damaged due to excessive water production.
10. Integrated pressure and temperature display panel. Over-temperature and over-pressure settings are displayed and controlled on the panel.
